Prized signing Marco Rojas scored with effectively the last action of the game to snatch a 2-1 win for Victory against one of their oldest enemies.

Rojas’ late winner earned the visitors a first win of the campaign after suffering their own late setback against Brisbane followed by last weekend’s Melbourne Derby mauling.

“It’s been a testing start for us but from that perspective the boys stood up tonight and certainly made it a contest,” Muscat told Fox Sports.

“When that happens results can go your way.”

Elrich: The better team lost

Muscat also reserved special praise for teenage sensation Sebastian Pasquali, who came off the bench to supply the final goal.

“We flirted with actually starting him tonight,” the Victory boss revealed.

“He has trained ever so well and after last week he was the one who came in with a spring in his step because he sensed he might get an opportunity.

“The main thing for him is his progression and development.

“He’s coming along really well at the moment.”
