The Victory boss urged his side to embrace the task against a Frontale side with a wealth of resources at their disposal but whom they pinched a 2-2 draw off last week in Japan.

Frontale have only collected one point from three games in their 2018 ACL campaign but they are the reigning J.League champions and currently sit second domestically.

Victory desperately need three points at home, having claimed only two so far, to stay in the hunt to progress.

"This is why this competition is so great," Muscat said.

"This is why we wanted to be here, for nights like tomorrow night, to put ourselves up against good opposition.

"It's nothing to be afraid of. Nights like tomorrow night are what we envisaged and why we want to be in this competition.

"Bring it on."

He added: "We're hell-bent on performing to a certain level. We've got to take care of business.

"We've returned back from Tokyo after getting a hard-earned point and we've freshened up."

Victory defender Rhys Williams reiterated Muscat's sentiment and said he believed they could knock off the Japanese champs.

"These are the games we want to be involved in," Williams said.

"It's a good test for us against different opposition that we're not used to week-in week-out."
