Melbourne Victory coach Kevin Muscat says his side controlled Friday’s 1-1 draw with Brisbane Roar and deserved all three points.
Victory edged possession 54 per cent after a blistering start to the contest, although Roar counterpart John Aloisi claimed his side were the more dominant at Suncorp Stadium.
Muscat insisted Victory were good value for all three points.
“The boys will be disappointed,” Muscat told Fox Sports.
“They feel we should have gone back to Melbourne with all three points.
“Coming here, that was a good performance from us tonight, we were good value for all three points.”
Roar were reduced to 10 men after Matt McKay’s 66th minute red card but Muscat said his side were dominant prior to that.

He added: “I thought we were good value, even when it was 11 v 11, I thought we controlled the game.
“At home Brisbane normally control the majority of the games they play here, but I don’t think that was the case tonight.
“It took them a long time to get in our box in the first half. We had total control in that first half.
“It’s disappointing in the end, but it’s only disappointing if you analyze the result, but if you analyze our performance, I was very very pleased.”
Muscat praised central defender Alan Baro along with his side’s depth up back following the retirement of Matthieu Delpierre.
“Ultimately we’ve brought two centre-halfs in and we’ve got Nick Ansell,” he said.
“The competition for places is very strong.”
Victory face rivals Melbourne City next Saturday in the derby.
