Victory downed Roar in the FFA Cup Round of 32 in comprehensive style in front of a crowd of 3,184 at the suburban ground.

Perry Park is the home of NPL Queensland side Brisbane Strikers who just secured back to back Premierships.

Muscat questioned why Roar chose the ground over Suncorp Stadium, which was scheduled to have the Brisbane Broncos v Cronulla Sharks clash two days later.

Muscat said he had raised the issue with Brisbane but admitted today: “I didn’t get an explanation.

“We’ve done exceptionally well, in ridiculous circumstances. Two professional teams in that surface and environment we were in were ridiculous and laughable.

“We got through it and played very well. Our mindset and our attitude was a reflection of our application on the night and we got what we deserved.

“Surely the onus comes on the actual team doesn’t it? But anyway, that’s the past.”

Victory will play Adelaide United in the cup Round of 16 tomorrow night away at another NPL ground – Marden Sports Complex.

Muscat confirmed he has a full squad however there are still visa issues with new Argentine signing Matias Sanchez.

The Victory boss admitted the draw did not work in their favour but was looking forward to the challenge.

“Going into the draw, first thing you want, if you want a preference you have a home tie,” he said.

“That’s the beauty of it It’s an all A-League encounter and we happen to be involved in it.

"There’s no point worrying about it, we prepared immediately after the draw to play against Adelaide.”
