The Sydney FC midfielder found himself in a heap of hot water for missing a training camp and was promptly excluded from the squad which played in San Francisco recently.

He will also miss the first match of the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia.
Mark Milligan has also paid the price for failing to turn up to a camp on time but Musialik says punishments have been taken on the chin and it’s time to draw a line in the sand.

He told au.fourfourtwo.com: “I had a chat with Arnie (coach Graham Arnold) and the boys. I’ve been given my punishment and I’ve definitely learned from it.

“I will have to prove myself again and I don’t expect to walk straight back in but hopefully things will get back to normal.

“At the end of the day what I did was unacceptable. I know that. The FFA looks at it and decides on a suitable punishment.

“If you do get away with it then other players will think that they can get away with it. The FFA hands out what they think is a suitable punishment but then they don’t hold grudges.”

As for colleague Milligan, Musialik said the defender had also made his peace with the players and it was time to move on.

He said: “The line has been drawn now and the boys accepted Millsy’s apology. We’re looking forward to having him back once his ban is over.”

The Olympics draws ever closer and Musialik insists the forthcoming Intercontinental Cup is far more than just a ‘warm up’ event.

He said: “It’s massively important. We want to get off on a good note. Everything we do from this point is important as things really have to click from here.

“The boys are looking forward to it. We had a good camp up there in Townsville and now we’re just looking to get the campaign underway.”
