Sandwiched between two Stereosonic weekends, it brought together the music industry's finest in Channel V, Elefant Traks, FBi Radio, Future Classic, inthemix, Ministry of Sound, Modular, Motorik!, Mushroom Group, Pulse Radio, Stereosonic and Sweat It Out.

As well as battling to be crowned the Musica Copa 2013 Champions, the teams were also aiming to earn cash for their nominated charities.

The day was filled with music, laughter, plenty of booze and some hotly competed football, all in the name of fundraising.

After a long, hard-fought day the rights to be called the Musica Copa Champions of 2013 came down to two teams - Sweat it Out supporting the St Vincents De Paul Society, and the team from Stereosonic who nominated Kids Under Cover as their chosen charity.

The final was played out on a slippery surface with Sweat it Out making the breakthrough early on, and they went on to extend their lead throughout the game, taking out crown with the final score at 6-3.

Paul Stix and Martin Novosel, who set up the Musica Copa event to combine their passion for football and music, were delighted with the success of the event.

"Musica Copa was everything we hoped it might be," said Stix. "All 12 teams competed hard, but fairly, the tournament was played in the best possible spirit and we raised money for charity.

“Congratulations go out to all of the teams and the players, with a major high five to the Sweat It Out team for scooping the inaugural Musica Copa Championship Trophy.”

Novosel added: “It was a fitting end to a great day as Sweat It Out's charity - St Vincent's De Paul Society - was picked by the family of Adrian Thomas aka AJAX - founder of Sweat It Out.”
