EXCLUSIVE: Kevin Muscat will join SBS-TV commentator David Basheer for the network’s coverage of Socceroo games at the 2010 World Cup.
It was confirmed today that the Melbourne Victory captain will provide analysis alongside Basheer as the main commentator at the event in South Africa.
The Socceroo games are expected to attract millions of viewers across the country - just as they did four years ago in Germany.
At the 2006 World Cup, the role of commentator for Socceroo games was filled admirably by Simon Hill, now with Fox Sports.
His call of the four matches and the Uruguay qualifier in Sydney were generally regarded as some of the best in recent times.
Muscat and Basheer last worked together in 2007 when Channel 10 broadcast the LA Galaxy versus Sydney FC friendly at ANZ Stadium.
