Sources in Germany have confirmed Amini has made a huge impression with the German high-flyers.

Amini’s form soon prompted Dortmund’s senior coach Jurgen Klopp to publicly express his admiration for the young Aussie player.

And with his unique afro Amini, who turns 18 later this month, was an instant hit with the German fans and media with De Bild newspaper likening the starlet to a popular German children’s animated character.

Amini began training with the club a week after starting for Central Coast Mariners in the A-League grand final.

His trial was interrupted by a stint with a national training squad of future Socceroos ahead of the the Green and Gold’s famous 2-1 win over Germany in a friendly last week.

But the a question remains over whether Central Coast would let him go if Dortmund offered Amini a deal just weeks after the club’s other playmaker Patricio Perez returned to Argentina.

Amini is now expected to resume training with the national youth team at next weeks’ camp at the AIS ahead of July's FIFA U/20 Youth World Cup in Colombia.
