Andrew Nabbout made his long-awaited debut for J-League club Urawa Red Diamonds in their 2-1 loss to Jubilo Iwata overnight.
Nabbout came on for the final 20 minutes but was unable to prevent Urawa sinking to their third loss in five games, as the 2017 Asian Champions League winners sink to 17th place in the J-League.
His debut caps up a phenomenal fortnight for the Aussie, who also made his first two Socceroos appearances against Norway and Colombia respectively.
Nabbout joined the prestigious Japanese outfit following two highly-successful years with Newcastle Jets, in which he scored 18 goals in 46 league appearances.
Despite Urawa's downturn in form, the 25-year-old has stiff competition for his place at the club, with veteran Slovenian international Zlatan Ljubijankic and Japanese internationals Yuki Moto and Tadanari Lee fighting it out for the forward positions.
