The Socceroos were dominated in Oslo, going down by three goals at the Ullevaal Stadion.

Ola Kamara scored a hat-trick as the green and gold suffered a loss in Bert van Marwijk's first match at the helm.

Lacklustre marking, poor defence and a mistake from Mat Ryan helped the Norwegians cruise to victory.
Nabbout on his debut against Norway

"If we keep making mistakes the way we did we will get punished in the World Cup," Nabbout said.

"It's really the style we want to play. We have to learn a lot from tonight. There's no room for error. A lot of people might not think so but we see it from our point of view and there were good moments in that game where we played in the style the new boss wants.

"It's about adapting to that. We have really taken on the philosophy of the new boss."

Nabbout made his debut for Australia against Norway, starting as the sole centre forward.

The 25-year-old, who was elated to get his first cap, believes the Socceroos can still take positives from the defeat.

"It was nice to put on the shirt for the first time, it's a very big moment for me," the ex-Newcastle Jets striker said.

"I am just looking forward to putting on the shirt again. I am not here to be a one cap player, I want to establish myself.

"I tried to do as best as I could to get in behind them. I worked as hard as I could up there. The standard, the quality, the intensity, there's no room for error.

"International level is a different ball game. I tried to work hard up there, Its always difficult up top by yourself. We made a few and they pounced and capitalised. It's a disappointing result, not the way we wanted to start things, but there are a lot of positives to take out of it."
