SOUTH Melbourne attacker Fernando De Moraes has been rewarded for a superb season with the 2010 Alanic Victorian Premier League Gold Medal for being the season's best and fairest player.
The Brazilian scored 13 goals in a season where his side narrowly missed out on a finals berth and won a tense count ahead of Melbourne Knights' Kevin Townson and Heidelberg United's Yanni Galanos.
Teammate and Melbourne Heart Goalkeeping Coach, as well as reserve keeper, Peter Zois won the award for best shot stopper.
Northcote City's Trent Rixon was awarded the leading goal scorer award after finding the net 19 times in 2010, while Knights young gun Adrian Zahra was named Under 21 Player of the Year.
Zahra's teammate Townson won the Bill Fleming Media Award for his 13 goals, including a hat trick against Northcote that saw the Knights ensure safety.
Minor premiership winning Richmond coach Michael Chatzitrifonos won Coach of the Year.
In the Women's Premier League, Bendigo's Sarah Richardson took out the Gold Medal.
Heidelberg's Melanie Camilleri was awarded leading goal scorer.
