The Bianconeri were relegated for match-fixing before last season but bounced immediately back into the top flight.

Nedved, David Trezeguet, Gianluigi Buffon and Alessandro Del Piero all remained with Juventus, but the team lost a lot of talent from the strong sides of recent teams.

"I can't say if we will succeed and win the first game, but one thing is for certain - we will try," Nedved said.

"We must not think about the Scudetto now, or our final position in the table. We'll go onto the field Sunday after Sunday and look back at what we were capable of doing.

"Also because it's not just us, but there are many teams that are looking at the first few places."

Juventus open their season against Livorno on Saturday.
