SOCCEROOS skipper Lucas Neill had a difficult evening as Galatasaray lost theirTurkish Kupasi quarter-final first-leg 2-1 to Mile Jedinak's Antalyaspor overnight.
Neill and Jedinak both played full games for their respective sides but it was the latter who can claim the advantage ahead of their second-leg next week in Istanbul.
Galatasaray had gone ahead on 10 minutes after Arda Turan scored from a corner, but Antalyaspor responded a quarter of an hour later through Serge Djiehoua.
Antalyaspor's Ivorian forward gathered the ball on the edge of the box and peeled off Neill's ordinary challenge before firing in a shot which wrongfooted Cimbom stopper Ufuk Ceylan.
And the hosts took the lead on 40 minutes when Necati Ates squeezed a curling shot in, despite the close attentions of Neill.
Gala had their chances in the second-half with Elano Blumer producing a good drive, while Mustafa Sarp netted from on offside position.
Elsewhere overnight, Mark Schwarzer produced a number of saves as Fulham defeated bottom-club Portsmouth 1-0 in the English Premier League.
In England's FA Cup, Aussie trio Patrick Kisnorbo (injury), Neil Kilkenny (injury) and Shane Lowry (cup-tied) all missed Leeds United's 3-1 home loss to Tottenham which ends the Whites dream run.
In Holland's Eredivisie, injured David Carney missed FC Twente's 2-0 win over Heracles which sees the Enschede club stay top despite PSV winning elsewhere.
