EUROROO WRAP: Socceroos skipper Lucas Neill helped Galatasaray keep the pressure on Turkish leaders Fenerbahce after a 2-1 win over Denizlispor overnight.
Neill put in a full shift in defence for Galatasaray, who went ahead early through Arda Turan before their struggling opponents responded through Engin Memisler just after the break.
But Neill's Brazilian teammate Jo, who followed the Aussie from Everton to Istanbul during the transfer window, popped up for the winner to keep Cimbom a point behind Fenerbahce.
Elsewhere in Turkey, James Troisi was an 84th minute substitute as high-flying Kayserispor won 1-0 at Gaziantepspor, while Michael Petkovic was missing, despite playing midweek, as Sivasspor lost 5-1 to Fenerbahce.
In Holland's Eredivisie, David Carney was absent with a shoulder injury as FC Twente returned to the summit with a 2-0 win over Roda JC.
In Portugal's Liga, there was no Jason Davidson in the Pacos Ferreira squad which beat Academica 2-1.
