AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will return to full training on Monday after almost four months out of action.
The former Italy international has struggled with a complex back injury since the summer but the club confirmed the veteran central defender will return to training next week.
Nesta's recovery is just one of several pieces of good news that Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has received this week.
Defenders Giuseppe Favalli and Philippe Senderos have also shaken off their respective injuries and will be available to train next week, as well as forward Marco Borriello.
However, Milan fans will have to play the waiting game to see playmaker Andrea Pirlo and defender Kakha Kaladze.
Both players are sidelined through injury until next month.
Milan, who are eighth in the Serie A standings, host Sampdoria on October 19.
