Everton skipper Phil Neville lamented a "killer" away goal conceded by his side during a dramatic 1-1 UEFA Cup draw with Metalist Kharkiv at Goodison Park.
Joleon Lescott gave David Moyes' men a half-time lead but the nine men from Ukraine levelled through Venans Zeze late on.
To compound matters, Andrew Johnson was forced to retake a penalty he scored due to encroachment and then missed, and also blazed a further late spot-kick over the bar.
"The killer goal is the away goal in Europe," he told Five.
"You can play well and be caught with the sucker punch.
"You need to win the home games and keep clean sheets."
Of the retaken penalty that Johnson missed, he added: "At the time I thought their players went into the box.
"It's disappointing but are they interfering with play? I don't think so."
