England Under-21 international Kieran Gibbs has signed a new long-term contract extension with Arsenal.
Last season proved a breakthrough for the 19-year-old left-back, who stood in for injured Gael Clichy during the closing weeks of the campaign and played in both the semi-finals of the FA Cup and Champions League - recovering from what proved a costly slip against Manchester United early during the second leg to go on and represent England at the European Under-21 Championships in Sweden last month.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "Kieran made such a great impact last season and the progress he made throughout the year was fantastic.
"Kieran is an intelligent player with huge quality and he proved last season with his performances that he has great potential.
"We are delighted that Kieran has committed his future to Arsenal and we are all excited to watch his future development at the club."
Arsenal have moved this week to tie up several of their youngsters on new long-term deals, with Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey agreeing contract extensions while four members of the successful FA Youth Cup team signed pro forms.
Holland international Robin van Persie, last season's top scorer, is expected to agree terms on a new deal shortly.
