YOUNG Aussie James Wesolowski's unfortunate injury run continued after pulling his hamstring in Hamilton's 1-0 SPL loss to Dundee United on Wednesday.
The Australian midfielder was forced out of the match with just over ten minutes to go, with it now feared he is set for an extended stay on the sidelines due to the injury.
It is terrible news for the 22-year-old, whose fledgling career has been wrecked by injuries including two broken legs and a broken ankle.
Wesolowski, who claimed earlier this week he's loving life in Scotland after an excellent first half of the season, had missed Hamilton's weekend cup tie against Rangers after complaining of hamstring tightness.
He revealed after the game: "It had been causing me a few problems in the last few weeks and maybe I was a bit too eager to get back into it.
"Hopefully the prognosis won't be too bad and it's only a couple of weeks."
The Sydney-born youngster is on loan at Hamilton from English Championship club Leicester City. It is believed Wesolowski was hoping to impress in the next few weeks in a bid to secure a permanent deal in Scotland.
He added: "It's the most games I've played in a season so far, so I'm enjoying my football but it's unlucky I pulled my hamstring."
Wesolowski will undergo scans this week to ascertain the extent of the hamstring injury.
