As part of Adidas's sponsorship of the AOC, they will be kitting out the Olyroos for their assault on the Olympic football title and former Socceroo and now Adidas marketing man Jim Tansey described the strip as “different”. Au.fourfourtwo.com will have pictures of the new kit in the coming days.
Meanwhile, a 17-man Olyroo squad will gather tomorrow for a week-long camp in Townsville, North Queensland ahead of the Olympics in August.
The squad includes recently banned keeper Danny Vukovic.
“Currently, the Townsville climate is very similar to those conditions and it will give the players an opportunity to acclimatise and prepare themselves for the next three months leading into the Olympic Games,” said Olyroo coach Graham Arnold.
The Olyroos will also be conducting a number of community activities throughout the week in Townsville.
The squad is:
Nigel Boogaard (Central Coast Mariners), Mark Bridge (Sydney FC), Adam D’Apuzzo (Newcastle Jets), Tarek Elrich (Newcastle Jets), Troy Hearfield (Wellington Phoenix), Jason Hoffman (Newcastle Jets), James Holland (Newcastle Jets), Mark Milligan (Uncontracted), Tahj Minniecon (Queensland Roar), Stuart Musialik (Sydney FC), Nikita Rukavysta (Perth Glory), Matt Simon (Central Coast Mariners), Nikolai Topor-Stanley (Perth Glory), Tando Velaphi (Perth Glory), Danny Vukovic (Central Coast Mariners), Ruben Zadkovich (Derby - England), Michael Zullo (Queensland Roar)
