Fraser uses the drill during training with the sky blues NYL keepers and with his shot-stoppers at the International Goalkeeper Academy in western Sydney.

It involves a game between two teams of keepers played on pitch roughly the same dimensions as five-a-side. The rules allow players to use their hands and feet across all parts of the pitch.

Keepers can dribble with the ball and score but also can dive at the feet of opposition players across the ground and block passes with their hands. The restarts are similar to ball-ups in AFL and basketball.

This hybrid game that has elements of AFL and football allows keepers to develop their skills within a format that is also exciting to watch.

"We've developed a goalkeepers' game that's relevant to goalkeepers, it's fast, exciting, spectacular and lends itself to TV," Fraser told au.fourfourtwo.com.

A promotional DVD has been produced showcasing the game's core elements and after viewing it, it's clear this hybrid form of football and AFL has potential.

"It's been really well received and we hope to have it played as a competition early next year," said the former Socceroo keeper.

In other news, English giant Liverpool may tie up with Fraser's academy at the Blacktown Olympic site at Rooty Hill. The club is said to be impressed with what Fraser has achieved at the program and has expressed an interest in formalising an alliance with the International Goalkeepers Academy.

The academy targets keepers of all levels but ultimately the 61-year-old hopes to produce another Mark Schwarzer. And there's a good chance of that with three of Fraser's younger students now signed up by English clubs.

Wunderkid Dean Bouzanis trained at the academy and at Sydney FC before joining the English and European football giants Liverpool. He's currently in the Liverpool reserves but is being touted as a future first team keeper and Socceroo regular.

Then there's Liam Jacobs, currently with Liverpool's U16s. The club flew Fraser and Jacobs over, had a look at the young keeper and now the Sutherland glovesman is in the Reds' U16 team.

And watch out for Alex Baird. The 14-year-old Woonona youngster has signed on with English club Derby County after being mentored by Fraser. Baird's family are now living in England with him.
