Newcastle Jets have confirmed Wayne Brown's departure from the club, following the mutual termination of the final year of his contract.
Brown joined the Jets in 2016, making 42 appearances for the club following his goal on debut against the Victory in the FFA Cup.
The 29-year-old is the fourth player to leave Newcastle this off-season, following Mario Shabow, Riley McGree and fellow import Patito Rodriguez.

The Jets now have two visa spots open on their roster.
Jets boss Ernie Merrick said Brown had been a great servant to football in the area.
“Wayne is an excellent professional and we wish him every success in the future,” Merrick said.
“He’s a competitive character, extremely hard-working and been a pleasure to work with.”
Newcastle Jets thanked Brown for his contribution to the club and wished him the very best with his future endeavours.
