Newcastle Jets' season looks to be derailing suffering a 3-0 loss at home to Melbourne City, their second consecutive defeat.scoring just before the break.
Ernie Merrick's men started brightly but once Melbourne City took control they never let go. Daniel Arzani and Bruno Fornaroli ran wild in the first half with the latter opening the scoring just before the break.
Dario Vidosic doubled their lead just after the interval, then tripled it with a late free-kick as City became the first team to hold the Jets goalless this season.
Newcastle Jets
Jack Duncan - 5
Kept very busy and wasn't always given the best protection from his side. Couldn't do much to prevent Fornaroli's goal and was beaten for the second.

Daniel Georgievski - 5
Did the job he was asked to do, made a few tackles, made clearances and interceptions when he needed to. Never really got the chance to go forward. Booked for a foul on Vidosic.
Ben Kantarovski - 5
Kantarovski hasn't played centre back in a while and it showd several. Wasn't his best performance of the season.
Nikolai Topor-Stanley - 5
Booked for blocking Arzani on the run. Equalled Eugene Galekovic on third place with most A-League appearances, playing his 261st match.

Ivan Vujica - 4
Back in the team after a month's absence. Will probably be having nightmares about Arzani this week. Booked for a foul on the City winger then was beaten in the air by Vidosic for the second goal.
Steven Ugarkovic - 5
Completed close to 90 per cent of his 54 passes and had a shot blocked but he wasn't as involved as he has been this season.
Nick Cowburn - 4
Was nowhere to be seen in the first half, hardly having any involvements. Subbed off midway through the second half.
Ronald Vargas - 5
Still doesn't look to be 100 per cent fit. The Venezuelan didn't really get the chance to create anything of note for his side. Was substituted after 74 minutes.
Dimitri Petratos - 5
Free kick forced a save out of Bouzanis. Didn't look his usual self out of on the wing but to be fair he has travelled a long way in the past fortnight.
Roy O'Donovan - 5
Suffered his first lost in 12 matches as a Newcastle Jet. The Irishman wasn't given too much service and only fired one shot at goal. Could only swing his boot at a pin point Vujica cross.

Riley McGree - 6
Started brightly but the flame soon died out. Won 13 duels out of 16 he contested and was probably Newcastle's best.
SUBS
Pato Rodriguez - 6
Replaced Cowburn just past the hour mark. Immediately put a spark in Newcastle's attack, came close to scoring soon after.
Joey Champness - N/A
Came on for Vargas with just over 15 minutes to go.
Melbourne City
Dean Bouzanis - 7
Petratros forced him into a couple of saves from set-pieces but he wasn't really troubled throughout the night.

Nathaniel Atkinson - 7
Had a relatively easy night did the young right back. He won eight duels, made two clearances and two interceptions.
Michael Jakobsen - 7
Made close to 50 passes, and three clearances but he didn't have to do a whole lot of defending. Was replaced by Harrison Delbridge late on.
Bart Schenkeveld - 7
The Dutchman didn't have to do too much defending, winning a few duels and making a clearance in a quiet night at the back.
Scott Jamieson - 7
Afforded a lot of space going forward at times and delivered a couple of troubling crosses. Quitened down in the second half.
Luke Brattan - 8
Tidy performance by the centre mid. Dominated the midfield, had the most touches with 74. Completed 89.1 per cent of his 55 passes. Vidosic scored from his corner.
Oliver Bozanic - 7
The ex-Central Coast and Melbourne Victory midfielder quietly went about his business and was fairly accurate with his passes.
Stefan Mauk -
Should've finished from an Arzani cross early on. It didn't matter as he side went on to score three times.
Dario Vidosic - 8
Rose above Vujica to head home City's second then his free-kick whistled past Duncan into the back of the net.

Bruno Fornaroli - 8
Perhaps unlucky not to have scored a few after a plethora of chances in the first half. Finally got his reward prior to the break.
Daniel Arzani - 8
Speed and skill was too much for Vujica and most of the Jets defence. Had 60 touches, Won 12 duels, three fouls and created four chances. Lasted 80 minutes before being replaced by Muscat.
SUBS
Nick Fitzgerald - N/A
Replaced Fornaroli in the latter stages of the second half and could've added to his side's tally.
Manny Muscat - N/A
Replaced Arzani for the final 10 minutes.
Harrison Delbridge - N/A
Came on for his captain with the game already won.
