Teams representing their respective State, Territory or region will compete in the Under 15 and Under 14 age groups, with the tournament set to conclude on Saturday 4 October.

"While the National Youth Championships are not the only means of being spotted as a player with potential, this tournament is traditionally an important component of our talent identification for young elite players," said Football Federation Australia CEO Ben Buckley.

"I am sure this year will be no different, and there will be players at these Championships who play in the National Youth League, the Hyundai A-League and who go on to represent Australia with distinction all the way up to the Qantas Socceroos."

12 teams in each age group will represent each State and Territory with NSW, Victoria and Queensland each providing a metropolitan and country team.

National Technical Director, Robert Baan, will be one of the spectators at the National Youth Championships along with the Head Coach of the Qantas Young Socceroos (U20), Jan Verslaijen.

"These championships are very important in helping us identify the top talent in these age groups and also to look at where and how we need to improve skills development further," said Baan.

"How well the boys plays provides us with a good benchmark for our elite football programs."

The National Youth Championships will be held at BCU International Stadium in Coffs Harbour from 27 September to 4 October.
