Clement has returned to training, following two months out with a foot injury, at a time when PSG are fighting for their lives to maintain their top-flight status.

The capital club are second from bottom in the standings having lost their last four games.

Confidence is also at a low ebb after they were dumped out of the UEFA Cup a fortnight ago, having conceded a penalty in the dying stages of their Round of 16 second leg against Benfica.

Clement, a transfer-window signing from Rangers in January, admits his team-mates have a fight on their hands.

"We must take the matches one at a time and claim maximum points," he said.

"There are nine matches left in Ligue 1 - they are nine cup finals. We must give our all in each, starting on Sunday against Lens.

"I am confident, though. I am not being defeatist and saying we have a foot in Ligue 2.

"We are going to have to fight and hang on in there. The time for reviews will come in May."

Clement, a title-winner during his time at Lyon with his current coach Paul Le Guen, admits PSG are not used to having to stave off relegation.

But he is sure the team can adapt to the situation.

"No club starts the league off thinking they will be fighting relegation at the end of the season," he added on club website www.psg.fr.

"Certain teams, for sure, are more used to being in the relegation area than others. But whether you are fighting to avoid going down or to play in Europe, it is all about the motivation in the squad.

"There are two tournaments in the league ate the moment - one for European qualification, the other for staying up. Everything is still very tight."
