Milos Ninkovic has weighed in on the career of Daniel Arzani, saying the 19-year-old should play "a couple of years" in Australia before moving to Europe.
Ninkovic knows what it takes to make it in Europe, the former Red Star Belgrade and Dynamo Kiev man playing at the highest level for a decade.
He believes Arzani has what it takes, but rushing his progression would be a mistake.
“He’s a huge talent," Ninkovic said.
"He just needs to keep going and work hard and then I think he can become a very, very good player.
“But I think for young Australian players, first they need to be here to play in the A-League.
“Maybe when you go to Europe too early it’s not good for your career and for yourself.
“That’s why I think it’s much better for him to stay here to play a couple of years here and after that to go to Europe.”
Sydney FC face Melbourne City on Saturday, February 10 at AAMI Park.
