CELTIC boss Neil Lennon had no complaints about physicality in Saturday night's 2-0 pre-season win over Perth Glory despite midfielder Beram Kayal being forced off with a broken nose.
The Israeli midfielder copped an elbow to the face in the first-half from Perth's Adam Hughes and had to be replaced due to the injury.
There was also a midfield tussle between Glory skipper Jacob Burns and Celtic captain Scott Brown, when the Perth man went in late prompting a heated verbal exchange.
However, Lennon told reporters after the game he had no qualms.
"It was competitive. I don't think it was over physical and I think it was very reminiscent of a game back home really,'' Lennon said.
"I was expecting that anyway. For the lads, they want to make a name for themselves and compete against our players.
"We've got no complaints about that, it's just one of those unfortunate things."
Glory boss Ian Ferguson felt the game was played in the right spirit throughout.
"That's what football's all about - you give some out and you take some," Ferguson said.
"The players were big enough and ugly enough just to get on with it. No harm done."
Ferguson added he was disappointed with the goals Glory conceded, but felt the experience against a 'quality' side would have benefitted his side.
"I said to the boys if you concede goals like that it's criminal. It's great that it's happening now rather than in the season so we need to work on a lot of things,'' Ferguson said.
"I said to the boys in there you won't play as good a team as that in the A-League. Celtic are a quality side and you can see just how well they move the ball about and how structured they are.
"We were reasonably pleased with a lot of things but we still know we've got a hell of a lot to work on. For them to come here was a great experience for us.''
Celtic will play Melbourne Victory on Wednesday in the final game of their tour and Lennon said star Greek striker Georgios Samaras, who remained on the bench in Perth, would get a decent run.
"He'll start the game. I'll try to get at least an hour into him," Lennon said.
