BRISBANE Roar are poised to extend their unbeaten run to 20 matches but Erik Paartalu is adamant victory over Perth Glory will be anything but a formality for Ange Postecoglou's men.
Roar's 1-0 win in Adelaide pushed them almost out of sight at the top of the ladder and they have all but clinched the Premiers Plate.
But there will be no easing up and coasting through to the finals series, Paartalu insists.
“I don’t think you can ever write off any team in the league,” he told Roar's official website.
“This league has a habit of biting you on your back side when you least expect it and I think Perth will be fired up.
“For us, it’s just about doing the same thing again, especially early in the game, to try and nullify their threats, take control of our passing game and keep the ball off them.”
But Paartalu admits the win in Adelaide was a massive result in denting the Reds' hopes of catching Roar.
“I think Adelaide had to win that game to keep in touch with us,” he said.
“They’ve still got a few games left but now we’re equal on the amount of games played so it will be hard for them.
