Wellington and Townsville will have to sweat it out over the weekend on the fate of their rival bids for A-League status.
FFA said last night it is more concerned with making “the right decision” rather than focusing on a set timeframe for its decision on bids by Wellington and Townsville.
Adam Mark, FFA Communications Manager, told www.au.fourfourtwo.com last night that documentation from both Townsville and Wellington was with the national governing body and it was reviewing the documentation thoroughly.
“It’s obviously in everyone’s interests to resolve this as soon as possible. It won’t be today obviously but we can’t put a date and time on when.
"It’s important that we make the right decision rather than say we can have a verdict made by a certain time and date," said Mark.
The Gold Coast has also expressed an interest in making a formal bid for the A-League.
