NEW Zealand assistant coach Brian Turner concedes his side will no longer be able to "fly in under the radar" at the
World Cup after their upset win against Serbia in their warm-up match at the weekend.
The All Whites stunned the 15th ranked side - and the football world - with their 1-0 triumph, which came courtesy of a 22nd-minute Shane Smeltz strike.
It has raised hopes the New Zealanders, ranked 78th in the world, could earn their first point in football's showpiece event after they left Spain empty-handed in 1982 - the country's only other appearance in the finals.
"We're trying to pour a little bit of cold water on to all that," Turner told Radio Sport.
"We've spoken to the players and they are aware of our thoughts on the game and our thoughts going forward.
"We just want to take it one step at a time but it's probably fair to say we can't fly in under the radar after a performance like that.
"People will be much more aware of our strengths and probably be a bit better prepared when they do play us."
New Zealand have warm-up matches against Slovenia (Maribor) and Chile (Nelspruit) before their World Cup opener against Slovakia on June 15."
