Roar are sitting ninth on the A-League ladder after a poor start to the season which has seen them claim two wins from 12 games and score only 14 goals in the process.

Aloisi’s side haven’t been helped by injuries and suspensions this campaign, with key men Thomas Kristensen, Avraam Papadopoulos, Michael Theo, Luke DeVere, Jade North, Eric Bautheac and Brett Holman all out for lengthy spells.

The club’s current injury list still includes Theo, North, Bautheac, Holman, Daniel Bowles, Ivan Franjic and Joe Caletti, while Papadopoulos is still unavailable for another three weeks due to suspension.

Despite that, Aloisi said he had no firm plans or target to boost the squad in January.

“Not at the moment,” Aloisi said, when asked about any specific targets.

“You’re always looking, especially when you have players out.

“Depending on how long they’re out for, if you can get an injury replacement in, you always want to look to improve.

“That’s not just up to me though. It’s up to the club as well, whether we’re able to bring someone in and see if there’s room in the salary cap.”

Aloisi added: “You’re always on the lookout as a coach and as a football department you always have to look for players for the future and the present.”

Sweden-based goalkeeper Sebastian Usai has been part of Roar training this week but Aloisi said he wasn’t being considered for recruitment.
