BRISBANE keeper Michael Theoklitos insists Roar won't be swept up by all but clinching the premier's plate and setting a domestic unbeaten record after the 2-1 win over Melbourne Heart.
Roar virtually claimed the A-League premier's plate with the win over Heart, as they moved nine points clear of their nearest rivals Central Coast who have three games to play and a much inferior goal difference.
Brisbane's win also made Australian football history as Roar set a new record of 23 games unbeaten.
"Come the end of the year we'll look back at it and weigh it all up," Theoklitos told Fox Sports after the game.
"But it's a great achievement, 23 games undefeated is a new record as well. We're breaking all sorts of records but we just want to keep it going."
About Roar's success this season, Theoklitos added: "Obviously Ange (Postecoglou) brought in 12 new players and we've worked real hard.
"It just goes to show what hard work (can do), play a certain way and we've got the players to do that, they're so mobile. Credit to these lads they've been tremendous all year round."
Roar coach Postecoglou was full of praise for his side.
"The A-League is a very tough competition so it is credit to the players that we have been able to achieve what we have this season," he said.
"There have been big expectations on the side for a number of weeks and the boys just keep performing week in and week out."
Postecoglou added: "The players really stood up tonight and didn't back away from any challenges, I was very proud of their efforts.
"We had a number of players fighting injuries and other players away so it was great to see the boys step up."
Heart skipper Simon Colosimo offered praise to Brisbane after the game.
"Massive congratulations to Brisbane. They proved if you play good football you're going to get results. They had a go at every single team they've played, so well done to them," he said.
"We came here, we had a good go, we had some great chances, but at the end of the day it all adds up at the end of the season, you've got to do it week-in, week-out."
The defeat is a blow to sixth-placed Heart's finals aspirations but Colosimo insisted they'd fight to the end with home games against Sydney FC and Central Coast to come.
"We're going out to win. We had an idea 40-odd points would get you there. We think we'll be close to that," he said.
"We're going go to out and win our games at home. We've been good at home, we've gone seven games now with only one loss. We were a little bit unlucky tonight, they came out and scored early. But that's the way football goes."
