WHILE Perth Glory are already on the lookout for overseas players, the club has denied that they have made an official move for former striker Nikita Rukavytsya.
The club is seeking replacement players for their Gloryroos - Mile Sterjovski, Jacob Burns and Chris Coyne - who are likely to leave the club on loan next year to boost their World Cup hopes.
Coach Dave Mitchell confirmed he had already met with Sydney-based agents about overseas players who might be available if they were to leave.
However at a player testing session today Mitchell revealed Glory had not yet approached Rukavytsya's club, FC Twente, or his agent.
He said his three Socceroo hopefuls needed to decide by next week whether they definitely wanted to go out on loan, before the club made approaches for other players.
"One of the thought processes is that if one of players do go, then he (Rukavytsya) might be of the options if the club in Holland are willing to go," Mitchell said.
"With Nikita's situation, we have to find out if our players are going to move first. If they are going to move then that's a situation where if he's not playing regularly and he wants to come back, and they (Twente) are willing to let him go then that's the next step."
Mitchell also appreciated that while he would like to have Rukavytsya return to Perth, his club side may not be keen on the idea.
He added: "He'd fit in like a glove and I've heard he's missing Perth. It would be a great addition if that was to happen.
"Sometimes when you're a young player of that calibre, he's there, he might be a bit lonely and not playing. If he came and had eight to ten games here, revitalise his season, go back and be a better player for it."
