Andrea Pirlo's management have told ESPN the former AC Milan and Juventus man is not in the least bit interested in coming out of retirement, especially to join Avondale FC.
ESPN reported the Italian would stay retired despite unlikely reports he could make a one-off cameo appearance in the FFA Cup against Sydney FC.
Yesterday Avondale were alleged to be in 'advanced' talks to sign the Italian World Cup winner, with the club saying they were waiting to hear from the 39-year-old's management team before commenting.
But one agent privately told FTBL on Wednesday that the idea was a nonsense publicity stunt gimmick and that a move like that could only damage Pirlo's legendary reputation.
Avondale are set to meet Bentleigh Greens in the NPLVIC semi-final on Friday night after finishing third on the table.
They will also be looking to thwart the Sky Blues in their first appearance in a FFA Cup quarter-final.
