MELBOURNE Heart coach John van 't Schip says he could see few positives from his side after they were convincingly "outplayed" by Brisbane Roar losing 4-0 on Saturday evening.
"The positive is that we don't have any injuries but for the rest I couldn't see any positive things there," van 't Schip said.
"We got outplayed. We had a good start, but it didn't last long and after that they started to play.
"They came behind our defence and in behind our midfield with a lot of mobility and we didn't have any answers to it.
"When we had the ball we lost it too quickly by simple ball-possession which we're normally better in.
"It helps a team like Roar come into the game and that's what happened."
The Heart boss did have something positive to say about goalkeeper Clint Bolton who kept the ensured the damage on the scoreline did not get worse.
"Today, if [Bolton] wasn't in the game, the score would've been a lot higher," he said. "In all the games Clint is really fantastic."
Melbourne Heart's next match is scheduled against city rivals Melbourne Victory next Saturday but the date may change with the AFL Grand Final set to be replayed next door on the same day.
Roar coach Ange Postecoglou applauded his team's effort, saying their dominance from the opening whistle laid the foundation for the whole 90 minutes.
"I just thought our pressure was fantastic, especially after the first ten minutes and I think that's what broke them in the end," he said.
"We played some fantastic football but what was the basis for that was the pressure we put on them.
"We worked really hard defensively, we were compact, we didn't give them a moment's peace and I think that kind of led to the events that followed.
"I think it's fair to say that we were good tonight and they obviously had a bit of a tough night for themselves."
Brisbane Roar goalscorer Kosta Barbarouses was rapt with his side's performance.
"Especially in the first half we executed our game plan brilliantly," he said.
"We got a bit sloppy in the second half but overall it was a great game for us and hopefully it keeps the ball rolling.
Barbarouses opened the scoring for Brisbane in the 23rd minute and he said the early goal helped the Roar overcome their troubles in front of goal.
Brisbane had only scored three goals all season prior to Saturday's win.
"We haven't scored an early goal this season yet, so it was good to score first early on," Barbarouses said.
"Hopefully we can keep doing it as it suits our game style."
The All Whites striker was also looking forward to Brisbane's next match away to Perth Glory on Sunday week.
"It's always a tough trip to Perth, but we're coming off a 4-0 win so we're going to be really positive and hopefully go over there and get the three points as well."
