The Sky Blues produced a disappointing performance as they lost 1-0 at Brisbane Roar on Saturday night, following on from last weekend's 2-1 defeat at North Queensland Fury.

Sydney's major turnover of players, including key players such as Clint Bolton, Simon Colosimo, Steve Corica and John Aloisi, has been attributed as the reason for their ordinary start to the new term.

"That's football clubs all over the world," McFlynn told Fox Sports. "People come, people go.

"We've brought in some fantastic boys. The boys are working hard day-in day-out in training.

"It's just a matter of time before we turn the corner."

The Northern Ireland midfielder added he was impressed by Brisbane who dominated possession and could have won by more had they converted their chances.

"Obviously very disappointed with the result, but full credit to Brisbane Roar," he added.

"They kept the ball for long periods of time and moved us around and pulled us out of position at times.

"They are a very good side. All credit to them. They moved the ball around very well.

"They're known for being a fit, energetic side and they retained the ball very well tonight which made it very difficult for us."

Brisbane Roar coach Ange Postecoglou has made some major changes at the club since taking over the top job in October last year and is delighted to finally be seeing the results.

"I was delighted with the performance," Postecoglou told Fox Sports. "You can get results from many ways, obviously we want to win, but we want to play a certain way and I think we did that in the first game and didn't get the result. The boys backed that up well.

"I understand Sydney were pretty undermanned, but we still had to play and they sat back and made it hard for us, so I was pleased with the performance."

Brisbane dominated possession throughout the contest but had to wait until the second-half to break the deadlock but Postecoglou praised his players for sticking to the plan.

"We were creating enough opportunities. As I said to the players at half-time, the worst thing we could of done was get frustrated and change what we were doing. To the players credit they didn't do that.

"If you play like that and play like that consistently the results will come."

Postecoglou also weighed into a contentious first-half decision by the linesman when Brisbane where denied a goal as Sydney stopper Liam Reddy scrambled to prevent the ball from crossing the line.

"I thought it was a goal," he said. "I haven't had a good look at it yet, but everyone was telling me it was a goal. I guess that would've changed the game a little bit."

Postecoglou also lavished praise on goalscorer Matt McKay.

"He is a club legend," he said. "The only thing which has been missing from his game is his finishing.

"He could be like a Steven Gerrard or a Frank Lampard for us because he gets into such great areas, he's a smart footballer, he drives the rest of the boys and if he could just finish some of his stuff off when we need it. And he did it."
