SOCCEROOS coach Holger Osieck has decided he has enough ammo at his disposal and won't send out an SOS ahead of the Egypt clash following injuries to Harry Kewell and Josh Kennedy.
Kennedy and Kewell will not travel to Cairo to join the squad for the upcoming international friendly match against Egypt at the Cairo International Stadium.
An ongoing back-injury has prevented Kennedy from making the trip to Egypt, while Kewell is still recovering from a previous injury and not fully match fit at this time.
After consultation with the players and their clubs, Socceroos Head Coach Holger Osieck has decided that they would not be required in camp.
No additional players will be added to the squad for the match.
Egypt is currently the top ranked nation in the African Football Confederation (CAF), the reigning Africa Cup of Nations Champions and 11th in the FIFA World Rankings.
The Socceroos have met Egypt only once before in the semi-finals of the 1987 President’s Cup tournament in Seoul in the Korea Republic. The match ended nil-all at the end of regulation time, with the Socceroos winning 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out.
