PRESTON have signed striker Iain Hume on loan from npower Championship rivals BARNSLEY.
The 26-year-old has arrived at Deepdale on a 93-day loan with a view to a permanent transfer and is expected to go straight into the squad for the visit of Norwich on Saturday.
Hume, who suffered a fractured skull in 2008, has made just two first-team appearances for Barnsley this season and is relishing the chance to get regular football.
He told PNE Player: "Whenever I have played here in the past there have been decent crowds and they do get on your back a bit when you are the away team.
"It'll be good to be on the home side now, it will be a different story but hopefully we can get the crowd behind us and push forward."
BRADFORD have snapped up former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie on a short-term contract.
Hendrie is hoping to prolong his career in the Football League at Valley Parade after being released by Derby in the summer.
The 33-year-old, who won one full England cap under Glenn Hoddle, is teaming back up with Bantams manager Peter Taylor, who was his coach during his days with England Under-21s.
CHARLTON have signed West Brom goalkeeper Luke Daniels on a month's loan as cover for the injured Rob Elliot.
Elliot will be sidelined for three to four weeks after chipping a bone in his elbow in training on Tuesday.
Daniels, 22, will vie with Ross Worner, the only other senior keeper on Charlton's books, to face Tranmere on Saturday.
Meanwhile TRANMERE have also solved their goalkeeping crisis by signing Hungarian Peter Gulacsi, 20, on an emergency loan deal from Liverpool.
With Gunnar Nielsen and Simon Miotto sidelined through injury, it left Rovers with only one professional keeper in Joe Collister.
So boss Les Parry has moved to bring Gulacsi back to Prenton Park following a previous spell on loan at the club last season.
BOURNEMOUTH have captured keeper Jon Stewart on a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old, who stands 6ft 4in tall, is reunited with Cherries assistant manager Jason Tindall who signed him during his time in charge at Weymouth.
BARNET have extended Dagenham striker Phil Walsh's loan stay at Underhill.
The 26-year-old's initial one-month deal expired after last weekend's defeat at Lincoln but he has now signed on until October 9.
HEREFORD have also completed the signing of striker Guillem Bauza on a free transfer, subject to international clearance.
The 25-year-old, who had been a free agent since being released by Swansea last season, has signed a deal with the Edgar Street club until January 2011.
Bauza represented Spain at youth level, playing alongside Liverpool's Fernando Torres amongst others.
