NORTHCOTE City hammered Dandenong Thunder 4-1 in the final game of the regular season in the Alanic Victorian Premier League in an eerie case of déjà vu.
Less than four weeks after the lights went out at George Andrews Reserve to bring play to a halt in the round 19 clash, City produced the same score line to end the Thunder's season in the replayed clash.
Northcote's heavy schedule continues when it faces fourth-placed Heidelberg at Olympic Village in the elimination final on Saturday night.
It has taken fifth spot from South Melbourne thanks to a brace from underrated striker James Kalifatidis.
The striker scored a header on six minutes and another before half time with his two coming either side of a fine strike by Eddie Soares.
Dandenong got one back through Scott Bulloch before the league's golden boot Trent Rixon scored the fourth.
