Incheon could have moved within three points of leaders Gwangju Sangmu with a victory and were presented with a golden opportunity to take the lead when striker Yoo Byung-soo was brought down in the Suwon box after 28 minutes.

But Serbian striker Cadivoski saw his spot kick saved by Suwon keeper Park Ho-jin as the home side enjoyed the lion's share of possession but failed to turn their dominance into goals.

Incheon are one of four teams on eight points and trail behind third-place FC Seoul on goal difference, while Suwon are struggling in 12th place in the 15-team league after managing only one win in their first six games.

"It was an exciting game but it is frustrating to come away with just a point," said Incheon's Serbian coach Ilja Petkovic.

"But it is good that we put in a good performance against a team like Suwon.

"We showed good movement but we were lacking in front of goal. We need to work on that in training."

While pleased with the away point, Suwon boss Cha Bum-keun was concerned at losing Brazilian striker Edu, who left the game with an injury after 12 minutes.

"Edu will not play in next week's AFC Champions League game with Shanghai Shenhua. He will be out for at least three weeks," he said.
