RANGERS striker Nacho Novo has been charged with improper conduct for allegedly gesturing to Aberdeen supporters in last month's Clydesdale Bank Premier League game at Pittodrie.
The 30-year-old Spaniard was pictured with his shorts lowered beneath his buttocks as he left the pitch at the end of the game, but it is the alleged finger gesture that has landed him with an Scottish Football Association charge.
An SFA spokesperson told Press Association Sport: "The review panel today decided that there was a case to answer in respect of the alleged case of improper conduct on the part of Rangers player Nacho Novo, having allegedly gestured to Aberdeen supporters after the match on November 28.
"Subsequently the matter is being referred to the disciplinary committee for investigation and/or consideration."
The case will be heard at the next disciplinary committee meeting on January 26.

Speaking shortly before the SFA's announcement, Novo refused to comment on the Pittodrie incident.
He also said he was in the dark over extending his contract, which expires this summer.
The club announced at their annual general meeting on Monday they were set to open negotiations with those players in the final years of their deals.
Novo said: "At the moment, I don't know anything about this. This is why I have an agent; I just want to concentrate on playing football now."
But Novo would have no hesitation signing on, adding: "I love the club and, for me, it's everything.
"I don't know how to explain it but it just means everything.
"If it wasn't for Rangers I would not be where I am now. But you never know what's going to happen."
Novo was speaking as he launched a new DVD, 'Nacho Novo - There's Only One'.
"I wanted to give something to these fans," he said.
"I will never complain about these fans, because what they have done for me has been absolutely fantastic."
