Nacho Novo has blasted Celtic and claims former Hoops boss Tony Mowbray spurred Rangers on to their Clydesdale Bank Premier League title win by criticising Walter Smith.
Mowbray took over from Gordon Strachan last summer but departed under fire in March following a 4-0 defeat at St Mirren which left the Parkhead club's title hopes in tatters.
The former West Brom manager had criticised the playing style of Rangers under Smith but in his second spell at the club, the Ibrox boss captured his second successive championship on Sunday with a 1-0 win over Hibernian at Easter Road.
"People from Celtic keep telling us we are not good enough but at the end of the day we are the champions," the Rangers striker told the Daily Record.
"It makes me happy to shut some of those mouths.
"It's very simple. Play some football and win some games rather than talk, talk, talk.
"Celtic have moaned about everything this season.
"They have moaned about referees, they have moaned about decisions, they have moaned about the SFA.
"They have blamed everyone but themselves.
"The one thing I need to have a go about is the comments made by Tony Mowbray.
"He said he would never play football the way that Walter does and that was a ridiculous thing to say.
"All managers have their own ideas on how to play the game and that's fine.
"But for Mowbray to come up here and criticise Walter's tactics? Who does he think he is?
"He said he would never be a manager like Walter. He was right about that. Walter is the man who won nine in a row. How many titles has Mowbray won?
"The gaffer took took our team to the UEFA Cup final. Mowbray couldn't even take Celtic to the League Cup final."
