Melbourne City have have been crowned National Youth League Champions after a thrilling 3-2 win over Sydney FC in the Grand Final on Saturday afternoon.
A brace from Braedyn Crowley – including a last-gasp penalty – and a second half strike from Daniel Arzani inspired City to a 3-2 win at Central Coast Stadium.
Played in hot conditions, the see-sawing game was locked at 2-2 before going into eight minutes of extra time where City proved deadly.
It was a bitter pill for the Sky Blues (and 2016 NYL champions) whose first team was also denied by City in the FFA Cup final in November.
The win hands City their second youth title after taking the crown in 2015.

It was a tale of two halves as Conference A winners, City, completely outclassed their rivals in the first 45' but were almost made to rue a host of missed chances after hitting the woodwork four times.
Crowley opened the scoring for City (22') before the Conference B winners and three-time title holders stormed back in the second half.
A Ruon Tongyik own goal (58') levelled the ledger before a stunning curling effort by substitute Charles Lokolingoy (68') put Sydney in the lead.
The Sky Blues were energised and in the ascendancy when the the game turned again.
Former Sydney man Daniel Arzani - who had been dangerous throughout - scored from the penalty spot (81') after Andrea Agamemnonos handled the ball in the area to set up a thrilling finish.
With the game in the dying stages and headed for a shootout, City were awarded another spot kick after a handball inside the box by sub Liam McGing, who had only been on the pitch five minutes.
Crowley stepped up to fire home and seal a memorable win.
