Brisbane Roar’s push for a home final has been dealt a massive blow with reports speedster Tommy Oar is set for a stint on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
Oar, who has made 21 appearances in the Hyundai A-League this season, was forced off with a hamstring complaint in Brisbane’s 3-1 win over Newcastle Jets last weekend.
The Courier Mail is reporting that Oar has suffered a hamstring tear and will miss at least a month of action with the injury.
Brisbane have endured a heavy workload over the past six weeks with John Aloisi’s side forced to juggle their A-League commitments with an ongoing Asian Champions League campaign.
The Roar have played 10 games in 36 days which have included long-haul trips to China and South Korea to face Shanghai Shenhua and Ulsan Hyundai respectively.
Brisbane will enjoy some respite with no game scheduled in the A-League this weekend due to the split round, though the Roar must travel to Japan this weekend for Tuesday’s ACL clash with Kashima Antlers.
