SOCCEROO Tommy Oar pressed his case for an Utrecht first-team call-up in their midweek Dutch Cup semi final after a man-of-the-match performance for the club's youth side on Monday.
Oar, who has made one start and four substitute appearances for Utrecht's first-team this season, provided two assists and was involved in another as Jong Utrecht defeated Jong Dordrecht 3-0 on Monday evening.
The 19-year-old Aussie had been an unused substitute for Utrecht in Sunday's 1-1 draw with NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie and has now pushed for a run in Wednesday's Dutch Cup semi final at FC Twente.
Oar was busy inside the first minute on Monday setting up Elson Rosario Almeida for a header he put wide.
But on 40 minutes they wouldn't be denied when Oar's ball found Almeida who headed in for 1-0.
Three minutes after the break, Oar was at it again with a great assist setting up Almeida to double Jong Utrecht's advantage.
On 57 minutes, Utrecht had a third after Oar combined with Dave Bulthuis who helped set up Attila Yildirim for the goal.
Oar was given an early rest on 68 minutes after a fine performance, and perhaps with a view to making an appearance in Wednesday's semi final.
