Brisbane Roar winger Tommy Oar has ruled out a move to the Middle East in the current transfer window and says no clubs have expressed any interest.
There was speculation a fortnight ago Oar would be ending his second stint in the A-League in the January transfer window to join a club in the Middle East.
But the Socceroo said he was focusing on winning a Championship with Roar this season.
“I guess there’s been a lot of rumours around, but for me I haven’t heard anything and nor is there any substance to those rumours,” Oar said.
“My focus is purely on here and performing well this season, there’s no real reason I could see any change for me in the next six months.”
“It’s really difficult to say in football, you never know what’s around the corner but like I said, I haven’t heard anything substantial. My focus is purely here and performing well.
“I want to win something with the club this season and I think we have the quality to do that. Beyond that I’m not looking further.”
Roar snapped a three-game losing streak on the weekend with a 1-0 win over Wellington Phoenix away on Saturday.
Oar said he was content with the performances believing they had enough depth to deal with their upcoming away clash against Western Sydney Wanderers.
Roar sit fourth on the A-League table.
“It was a really important win for us, busy period coming up and we wanted to rectify that,” he said.
“The most pleasing thing is the manner in which we won. We had to dig deep and show a lot of character.
“With the way we were playing the results weren’t really a fair indication of our performances. So looking at the bigger picture, if we keep performing like we have been in the last month, we’ll win more games than lose.
“I think the most important thing for us to not get our heads down and keep working hard.”
