ACTING Socceroos coach Aurelio Vidmar will take the reins of a depleted Socceroos squad when the Aussies face Canada in London on Tuesday.
Vidmar who took over the top job temporarily following the sensational sacking of Holger Osieck will be without he services of Luke Wilkshire and Tommy Oar.
The players add to a growing injury list that includes Mark Milligan, Brett Holman and Tom Rogic.
Wilkshire, who missed the Socceroos match against Brazil with a knee injury, played 70 minutes in the 6-0 loss to France on Friday night before being substituted.
After the match, the Dinamo Moscow player was assessed by the Socceroos medical staff in consultation with Vidmar.
It was decided, in the interests of the 32-year-old's ongoing management of a longstanding injury, he would return to Russia to continue his recovery process.
Oar failed a late fitness test prior the Paris clash and played no part in the match which ended the controversial reign of Osieck.
The 21-year-old has been allowed to return to FC Utrecht to continue his injury rehabilitation to ensure he is available for club selection as soon as possible.
No additional players are expected to be added to the Socceroos squad.
Vidmar faces a monumental task to build the team's confidence after two consecutive 6-0 thrashings.
The friendly against Canada will be played at Craven Cottage 8m BST (6:00am AEDT, Wednesday 16 October) and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports.
