Loew adopted a false nine formation during Friday's 3-0 win over Kazakhstan, with Borussia Dortmund's Mario Goetze deployed in a deep-lying forward role in the absence of strikers such as Mario Gomez and Lukas Podolski.

Oezil feels such adaptability is a huge asset to the side, telling reporters: "It is to our advantage that we can play different systems. I look forward to seeing which system we will play next."

Marco Reus echoed the comments of his team-mate, saying: "I played in that position for years with Gladbach (Borussia Moenchengladbach) so I know how to conduct myself there.

"We have many good players who can play in that position."

Germany face Kazakhstan once more on Tuesday, and despite the relative ease in which they secured victory on Friday, team manager Oliver Bierhoff has warned against complacency.

"There are some teams in qualification which have lost important points against lower-ranked teams. We must still be concentrated and dominate the match," he said.

Bastian Schweinsteiger will be suspended for the match after picking up a booking at Astana Arena, with Sven Bender being called up to replace him.

But according to Bierhoff, Ilkay Guendogan is likely to fill the midfield void.

He said: "Ilkay's development is very good. He has already proved his quality in the national team."
