In winning the 2017/18 Hyundai A-League Grand Final over Newcastle Jets, Melbourne Victory secured their fourth Championship and earned the distinction of being the most successful team in Hyundai A-League history.

During the regular season Sydney FC won the Premiership by 14 points and became the first team to achieve the feat in consecutive seasons.

Every time Arzani touched the ball this season his skill, dribbling and willingness to take on players got fans off their feet and his performances earnt him the Young Player of the Season award.

Before he left to join the J-League, Newcastle's Andrew Nabbout’s mazy run and outside of the foot strike went viral and won goal of the season.

McGree’s effort in the semi-final against City was out of this world and made even greater headlines across the globe for its audacity, skill and opportunism. It gave the Jets the impetus to win 2-1 and book a spot in the Grand Final for the first time in a decade.

The other semi-final will go down as one of the most remarkable games in Hyundai A-League history.

With just seconds to go in normal time Melbourne Victory midfielder Terry Antonis scored an own goal that tied the game at 2-2 and sent the match into extra time.

Late into the second half, Antonis produced a moment of unforgettable sporting redemption when he ran from inside his own half to score the winner and book Victory’s spot in the decider against the Jets.
