Central Coast's A-League campaign might be petering out but Paul Okon says the Mariners will keep fighting until the very end.
The club currently sits in ninth spot on the ladder, with just four wins from 21 games this season.
The Mariners are seven points below sixth-placed Western Sydney and with just six games left are running out of time to snare a semi-finals spot.
After defeating cellar dwellers Wellington 1-0 two weeks ago, Central head west to face Perth Glory this weekend.
Head coach Okon said training has been good after the rare boost of a victory and go to Western Australia with a positive mindset.
"It’s amazing what a win does, it puts smiles on everyone’s faces," he said.
"The plan is get another win as soon as possible to continue smiling. The attitude’s been great, the energy’s been great, we continue to work as hard as we can even though it’s getting later on in the season.
"We’re not taking our foot off the pedal. I’m expecting that we win [in Perth]. I’m expecting that we go there with the attitude that weve had all season, whether we’ve played home or away, and that’s to try and get three points.
"It’s a tough place, a long trip, but we’re confident in the way we prepare for these long travels that we’ll be ready to go at kick-off time."
Glory may be without marquee man Diego Castro for Saturday's fixture, but Okon remains unconcerned.
"A team that has Diego Castro fit and firing is a strong team," he said.
"So the last time we played Perth Castro didn’t play, so we prepared regardless, and that’s what we’ll do. They probably go into this game with the same form as us – a win and a draw – and they’re at home. We expect a really tough game but we’re confident that we can perform."
The Mariners face top six sides Melbourne Victory, Sydney FC, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne City and Newcastle Jets next in the final five weeks of the season.
But Okon is not looking beyond the Perth clash and said: "Every game’s important. If you look at our results this season we’ve performed and had our best results against teams in the top four.
"I don’t want to put the mocker on us too much but hopefully that can continue. We’re really looking only at the game that we have in front of us and that’s Perth. Hopefully we can get the job done. Then we’ll look at what lies ahead."
