Central Coast coach Paul Okon says his side have worked the hardest they have all season for the past fortnight as they try to end their 11-game winless run.
The Mariners have slipped to ninth on the A-League ladder amid their poor run of form, having collected five points from the past 11 games.
Central Coast host bottom-placed Wellington Phoenix in Gosford on Friday night, with both sides locked on 17 points each.
Okon implored the Mariners fans to keep the faith.
"It's easy to say keep coming and supporting," Okon said.
"The fans want to win, which is no different to the players and staff. It's not through a lack of desire or work ethic.
"The last two weeks we've probably worked the hardest, apart from pre-season, it's the hardest we've worked.
"We're certainly not going to go out there and not try. There's a number of points still to play for.
"You never know. Hopefully a win on friday can start a little run of games."
Okon added that despite the poor run of results, his squad's morale remained positive.
"Team morale is good," he said. "Pressure comes from within yourself and what you expect and what you think should be the outcomes.
"We all know they have to be better. At no stage is there a lack of belief or will to work. I'm quite confident tomorrow night we'll have plenty of energy."
